What is The Beyond Limits Movement™?

I envisioned The Beyond Limits Movement™ in 2009. I live, laugh, love and lead “beyond limits” as I call reaching around, over and through whatever challenges you — whether it be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual challenges, negative self-talk, negative labels or even the naysayers in our lives. You and I have to live for how we want to define our successes and how we choose to beat those challenges. No one else can do that for us! Let’s start a movement to live, laugh, love, learn and lead #beyondlimits NOW!

Why would I use a Life 0r Career Coach?

There are lots of reasons people of all abilities seek out coaching, and most of them are centered on the desire for changes that will improve someone’s quality of life and help them create a plan to reach beyond the challenges on their life, health, relationships, work or business. Most of my clients understand that changes are necessary to achieve a different outcome, but many of them are not sure where to start or how to go about effecting those changes. They are so fed up with being ‘stuck’ where they are they are willing to invest in themselves and the help of someone else to move them forward. I start with you right where you are and help you move forward with the right tools to lead your own vision of your best life, work or business #beyondlimits.

How does coaching work?

It’s really simple. You will tell me what’s going on in your life, relationships, work or business, and we’ll talk about how you’d like things to be better, changes you’d like to make, and goals you’d like to achieve. I will ask questions to learn more about what motivates you, help you identify blind spots in your awareness, and work with you to create a realistic road map that will help you reach your goals and live your best life much quicker than you would alone.

How do you work with your clients?

I do whatever works best for my client. We can conduct our coaching sessions face-to-face if you are in my area, by telephone, Skype, or even using an online instant messaging format. We can work using verbal exercises, worksheet assessments, affirmation creation, vision board creation, energy work — whatever we mutually agree would best help you move forward to live, laugh, love and lead #beyondlimits.

Do you work as a life coach with people without disabilities?

Of course I do – I’m an Inclusionista! We ALL have challenges and negative self-talk to work through. My personal and professional experiences make me a subject matter expert on the challenges facing most anyone, especially women with disabilities and mental health challenges. Life, relationship, energy or career and business coaching can help anyone break down challenges and obstacles into manageable pieces so you and I can create a better, well rounded personal or professional life #beyondlimits for you and on your own terms.

Do you offer life coaching to disabled veterans?

I am proud to serve our disabled veterans, especially female veterans, individually and in small groups. I am the daughter of a disabled veteran who spent four years in the U.S. Air Force and 18 years in the U.S. Coast Guard respectively. Making the transition back to civilian life can be difficult, and disabled veterans often have the added adjustment of relearning how to do the everyday things that allow them to be independent in life, with family and at work or in business. Having a coach who knows the ropes shortens your learning curve and provides you a safe space to address your questions and concerns about life with a disability as a civilian AND with other issues going on with life, family, work, love and wellness.

How are you different from a counselor or service provider?

A service provider is usually a generalist who assumes a wide range of roles to assist individuals, groups, organizations and communities. Service providers are often federally or state funded, and they are limited by budgets, statutes and guidelines. As a Life Coach, my specific focus is helping my clients do what they need to do now to become who they want to be. Since you determine your own goals, you are more in control of the outcome in the time we spend together. Service providers are great resources and, when applicable, I may partner with one or more service providers in the community who can help my clients with disabilities maximize their independence and opportunities. Additionally, coaching is not the same as counseling. When a person goes to a counselor, they are in crisis and usually have some issues that need resolving from their past. Rather than resolving issues from or focusing heavily on the past, life coaching is focused more on the here and now. I am focused on helping you develop goals and strategies to  move on personally or professionally #beyondlimits in a more proactive rather than reactive way.

What is a vision board?

A vision board is a visual image of what you do want in your life. You place you attention on it at least once every day. See it, believe it, receive the positive momentum in bits and pieces every day. A vision board is a daily visual reminder that keeps you focused on your goals and dreams in any aspect of your personal and professional life. I can help you one on one or I can facilitate a vision board seminar for your family, friends, colleagues, club or worship group. Let’s start here.
